In loving Memory of Marilyn Vierra

A Life of Caring is a Life worth Sharing

A philanthropist from birth, Marilyn always had a genuine concern for the well-being of others. She believed a life without compassion and caring is a life unfulfilled. So whether volunteering her time, donating her resources or simply offering an ear to a friend, Marilyn was happiest when helping others.

Marilyn may no longer be able to share her memories with us, but that shouldn't prevent us from sharing our memories of her. We all know that time heals all wounds as it ceaselessly marches on. But time also fades all memories, so a memory not shared soon becomes a memory impaired.

All of us have memories of the times we enjoyed Marilyn's company. Whether they be of something funny she said, something nice she did, a shared vacation or just of time spent together. Those fortunate to have shared a chapter in Marilyn's life are asked to please join us in honoring her by sharing your memories in our collective endeavor to forestall father time.

Will always remember your bright and welcoming smile when I played bridge at your house, or at other's houses for our monthly bridge group. Plus, sitting with you both or seeing you at Mission Chamber Orchestra's concerts in years past. Our visits at your place at Atria after Ed left us. You affected a lot of lives. And I always loved the teal, aqua, white, and other bright colors you wore; polished and elegant.

Elegant, caring, smile always

Most of my memories of Marilyn revolve around bridge. In her home, in mine, in those of others, we shared hours of trying to outwit each other, communicate with it partners, and have fun doing it.  I remember her smile, always at the ready, always embracing me with its warmth. She wore aqua, teal, silver, white, but I remember most the blue green of the aqua range. Slender, elegant, and relaxing to the eyes. A bright interest in life, what others were doing, a little shy sometimes about sharing her own stories. Caring came out of every glance and conversation. Another place I remember was at Mission Chamber Orchestra concerts. She and Ed had a connection with the director. Sometimes we would sit together, in particular when I was no longer on their BOD. I will miss her dearly. Her face and smile are vivid for me.
